EE-HUB Round Table in Brussels

Skills: Getting it Right for the 4th Industrial Revolution

Skills have the potential to transform lives and drive economies. However, in many countries, imbalances between the supply and demand for skills lead to significant skill mismatches and shortages, with as many as three in five workers in the OECD employed in jobs that do not make the best use of their skills. At the same time, a large number of employers report hiring problems due to skill shortages.

Recent research (funded under Erasmus+) has shown how entrepreneurship education has multiple positive impacts, not just on the entrepreneurship competence itself, but also on other transversal competences such as digital and communication competences, creativity and teamwork. What are the skills needed in the future and how can they be acquired? What does it take to achieve levels of participation that result in true socio-economic impact?
