Monique Aerts (1971) started her career writing about pop music and working as a field researcher for the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute for Labour and Law. In 2007 she published her dissertation about The legal status and social economic position of the self-employed. Since 2009 she works as a senior policy advisor for the Department of Economic Affairs, fields of expertise are self-employment and entrepreneurial education.
